"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

We're Gonna Need A Snake!

On Season Two (or so) of 24, Jack Bauer makes a split second decision to stop a bomb from going off. In doing so, he exclaims one of THE most memorable lines in television history, "I'm gonna need an ax!" (and then proceeds to chop off a guys hand!)

This is the spirit in which my title to this post should be read!

On Sunday the children ran this cute little stuffed animal into me and said that Wavee was trying to put it in the toilet in their bathroom....

I didn't think too much about, but when I went to use 'their' bathroom I was greeted with a plethora of objects floating in the bowl---a WHOLE mess of toilet paper, a maxipad (still in the wrapper), a tampon (still in the wrapper), a little tykes fireman and a relief society manual (harold b lee to be exact).

Sooo odd----soooo not the end of the story!

Fast forward to Tuesday night---the same bathroom. This time I go to use this bathroom and see a WHOLE lot of toilet paper in the bowl AGAIN. I flush it to clear it out, and the bowl creeps up on the verge of over flowing. I run to get the plunger from the garage, but when I start to plunge NOTHING goes ANYWHERE, and I hear this really odd clinking sound. I can't actually see anything in the water cuz all the toilet paper has muddied up the water, but I bravely decided to go where no man has gone before.

In my arm went and out starting coming a spoon, and a quarter (that explained the clanking sound) and I could feel a ball in there of some sort. As I started to grab at this ball, I felt it deflate and in doing so a nose bulber slid out into my hands.

WOW! I go to flush the toilet, but it still isn't going anywhere OR responding to the plunging, but my hand cannot reach any further.

Sooo Laetner was voted to create a sign for our bathroom door to remind us not to use it. (We would just have to wait for Daddy to come home Thursday night to figure it out!) The sign reads:

Don't Use the Toilet
Keep Out.

Just to be safe I decided to keep the door locked anyways, since I obviously can't trust the child anymore.

Move forward to today. I will admit that Waverly was SLIGHTLY neglected today. I was doing alot of work on the computer for Let's Play Music and had set Wavee up to watch Yo Gabba Gabba in MY bedroom. Well apparently she lost interest and headed back to what she knows best, cuz when I came in @1:30 to get ready for Let's Play Music (don't judge me, I told you I was a computer bum today) I saw some very familiar looking toilet paper remnants in the toilet bowl again----and Waverly's shirt was wet up to her ELBOW! I was smart enough to not just hit flush and went straight for the no man's land on a 2nd toilet in my house and pulled out four hair bows. I thought I was safe after the retrievals, so I went ahead and flushed it, but it copied the other toilet and not only wouldn't flush, but wouldn't respond to the plunging as well. WHAT HAS SHE BEEN PUTTING IN THE TOILETS?????

Two toilets down and just our little toilet in the Let's Play Music room for us ALL to use.

But as I am finishing up my 3:30 Let's Play Music class I have an idea.....

"Ummm Delainee, would you be willing to do something REALLY gross for me?"

It definitely took some coaxing, but Delainee's little arm was able to reach in to almost her shoulder and she pulled out another one of these out of the guest bathroom toilet

(don't even want to know how long this first one had been in there....)

and she pulled this out of my bedroom toilet

I am happy to announce that MY toilet is back to working, flushing order---but the guest bathroom STILL won't respond to flushin or plungin!

I think we're gonna need a snake!

Not to mention all three of us have put our arms WAY further into those toilets than they should have gone---
I don't know if Court will be able to live with us anymore! Ü

p.s. If you notice, this entire post broke my cardinal rule of 'no photo is worth taking unless SOMEONE is in the shot'! It was bad enough that I rifled through the trash to exhume all the items for a photo shoot , I wasn't about to trust Waverly in a shot with said items---they might have ended up in a toilet again, in her mouth or WORSE! But I am now happy to announce that they have all returned to whence they came and ALL items have been thrown away---- so please no more phone calls to borrow the spoon!

Makes a Mother Proud

Growing up our family owned two vhs tapes. Okay maybe more than two, but I distinctly remember watching The Empire Strikes Back, and Raiders of the Lost Ark over and over and OVER! I can remember playing 'name that scene' while doing the dishes, (where someone would say a line and you had to figure out who said it and where in the movie) and most lines were ALWAYS from one of these two movies. Our options grew exponentially when Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade came out, but I have four brothers----so it was no surprise that time was spent on Star Wars and the Indiana Jones movies. And since most of those brothers were older, I wasn't really the one making the decisions as to what was getting played in the VCR!

(interesting to note that we NEVER were trekkies)

But, I grew up on 'classic' guy movies, T.V. and cartoons---Silverado, Red Dawn, Air Wolf, A-Team, Thundercats, X-Men---just to name a FEW! And I have no problems admitting that I am a nerd and could probably beat most of you on the Star Wars Trivial Pursuit Edition---in fact I HAVE beaten my husband in said game. I have no problem admitting that I have ALWAYS had a huge crush on Harrison Ford. I have no problem admitting that I throughly enjoy playing the Lego Indiana Jones game on our Nintendo ds. And I have no problems admitting that I forced my husband to run to Wal-Mart last weekend in order to buy the Indiana Jones quadru-logy! Ü

But here is the funny thing. You would think that it would be Laetner that loves to watch all these movies with me, He is the Super Hero FREAK at our house!

But no, it is DELAINEE---in fact I had to almost threaten Laetner just to get him to stay in the room and watch with us!

No, Delainee is the one begging to watch Last Crusade with me again. And she is the one that spent her Martin Luther King day wholed up in Laetners room watching Return of the Jedi followed by Star Wars---she even turned me down for a run to Sonic during Happy Hour becuz she hadn't finished the movie yet. (that is HUGE)

Just tugs at my heart strings! Ü

Cla-ah-ssy

Sometimes I feel bad that Waverly gets ALOT more face time on my blog than anybody else. But in her defense, we do spend all day alone together, and this week we have been staying up together after the school age kids are in bed by 8:00. Last night she walked in with this doozy of a fashion statement. She must have been trying to get her arm out of the shirt and it got twisted on the way up. Add in the recent drainage of a sippie cup and the remaining remnants of lasagna for dinner (in her hair, on her forehead, and yes smack dab on her crotch) and she had the belly that would really work this 'look' to its full effect.

If this isn't the epitome of white trash, then I don't know what is---since no house makes em' whiter!

Believe me when I tell you that when she rides the arm of the couch(her horse apparently) that it is NOT a pretty sight!

Don't you just love this age when they can be so CUTE and so GROSS in the same instance!

Still Funny

Our ward was FINALLY split last week (about time since we were at 800+ members), so today at church there was a massive amount of calling and sustaining and we had to restaff many of the presidencies as well as most of the primary and nursery.

With the recent disbanding of the Elder's Quorum Presidency, that left Court wide open for something, and he was VERY excited to be called into nursery! Ü But there was some 'slight' confusion from the pulpit when the Bishop asked for Sister Courtney Fischbeck to stand up. There was a quick whisper from one of the counselors, and then a "errr, I mean BROTHER Courtney Fischbeck!"

Wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last, but it is STILL funny.

p.s. can I just say that I am already LOVING 9:00 a.m. church!

Who Says Arizona Doesn't Have Seasons?

Look at these good helpers raking up all those leaves...

I teach Let's Play Music and, instead of actually exchanging monetary values, I trade with my brother---it's the best trade EVAH! I teach music (LPM and private piano lessons) to 4 of his kiddies and in exchange he takes care of my landscaping (front and backyard). My grass is his grass and HE better not catch YOU walking on it!

Even better is that he usually brings helpers along and all the kids end up outside playing together. Today he brought Brady and Crew along for a little Saturday morning yard work, but it can't be all work and no play, right????

Everyone had to take a turn DIVING in!

Wavee wasn't very interested....

No sooner than we placed her on top of the leaves, she immediately skedaddled on out of there!

See, the leaves do change colors and fall off the trees in autumn (errrr end of winter) in Arizona

Okay maybe they don't really change colors---those are the leaves off my three plum trees in my front yard---but they DO look pretty!

Somehow at the end of it all Brady ended up with a leafy tail STUCK to his bum!

Look out Chile Here They Come

For the 2nd time in history, the country of Chile will host a missionary of the Fischbeck variety--although it will be the first time for the city of Concepcion! Thursday night was the setting apart of grandma and grandpa Fischbeck to be missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They will be serving as office missionaries for the next 18 months. Everyone except for Court's brother Mark was in attendance.

Here they are with President Wright

The whole group....

Afterwards we headed over to their house for one last family pizza party and our last chance to say our goodbyes.

Delainee still keeps asking us why grandma has to go, but we are so excited for them and can't wait to begin hearing all of their fun experiences.

Dee-Doy-Dum

We had such a wonderful winter break from school. I personally enjoyed staying up late and not having ANYTHING to have to get up for. But come Sunday I knew the honeymoon was over. SOOOO we got everyone bathed, and hair done and clothes picked out, so that bright and early Monday morning there would be no problems getting back into the swing of things. We looked at the lunch calendar and picked out the days we would buying our lunch this week. We even made a batch of cookies so we could have something fun to pack in our lunch on those days that we packed our own.

And there weren't any problems. There was the usual, constant nagging after Laetner to please finish his breakfast, and please brush your teeth, and please hurry and get dressed. But everyone managed to get out of bed at our usual time when the alarm went off at 6:40 a.m. And by 7:45 all lunches were packed, hairs were combed, teeth were brushed, jackets were on---WE WERE READY TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

Monday mornings I am in charge of car pool so I sent my trusty side kick Courtney (since he is actually in town) and I began getting dressed for the gym so I could start the new year out right and get back into the routine of exercising every morning. Suddenly the phone rings and I see that it is my SIL Shelby (the other half of our car pool). "Were you just knocking on my door?" she asks. I thought she was being funny. "One of my kids probably was," I responded.

Silence on the other end of the line...

"Ummm, school doesn't start until WEDNESDAY!" she exclaims.

After feeling all sorts of emotions from humiliation to frustration, I realized that I better call Court quick before he actually dropped the kids off at school. I starting dialing his cell phone, but to my horror it starts ringing right next to me. I then heard the beep of the front door opening and I bolted to see if he still had the kiddies---luckily he did.

With not a soul in sight he had decided it wasn't the best idea to just drop the kids off at the crosswalk---GOOD BOY!

But I was so mad that I wasted a perfectly good night staying up late and sleeping in! Ü Plus I couldn't go to the gym with the extra two kids in tow---my membership doesn't cover it ---there goes my New Years Resolutions on day ONE! We were ALL dressed up with NOWEHERE to go, so we did a little shopping that day. And lunch time was easy. Once the kids starting saying they were hungry for lunch I told them to just go open up their backpacks.

But I have NEVER in my entire life heard of school starting back on a WEDNESDAY after Winter Break, have you?????

Boo, Gilbert Public Schools, boo!
