"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

Let's Play Music Recital

Wow what a night!!!! We started at 6:00 p.m. with our combined 1st and 2nd Years "End of the Year Program". We had 40 little Blue Bugs up on that stage in addition to 23 Yellow Indians when it came time for the grand finale of Do Re Mi! But our little Laetner did such a great job. I learned many things about what not to do next year, mainly to not let it be soooo long next time...SIGH! Laetner didn't care, he was just excited to get his certificate and a whistle pop!

We scooted everybody out just in time for our 3rd year recital. This was Delainee's special year to graduate from Let's Play Music and she culminated it all by performing her very own piece that she composed herself. In attendance were some friends of my in-laws, and they sent the following in an email to Mama Maurio that describes Delainee to a tee....

Last evening we attended the “Let’s Play Music Recital” where our grandson was performing his original composition of “Revolutionary War.” On the same program your granddaughter, Delainee, was performing her original composition of “Playing Outside.”

Delainee had a dainty, lady-like appearance with her hair in little ringlets, a touch of make-up for the occasion and she was wearing a pretty little dress. She had a beautiful presentation and her performance was well executed and well received.

She did such a wonderful job. She is SERIOUSLY talented, and cannot wait to see where she goes from here...

Delainee's Baptism

Saturday May 8th was the special day. We donned our white dress, took a photo in front of our beatiful white roses, and headed out to the church to get ready for our 11:00 Stake Baptisms.

Funny thing about this picture.
Photobucket
You see the way Court is crouched down---ummm DON'T do that!!! Luckily for him it was the moment AFTER I took the picture, but his jumpsuit completely split open at the crotch--WHOOPS!!! At least it happened at the start and not during right????

It was so nice to not have to plan any aspect---and especially to not have to play the piano for anything. I got to focus on my baby girl on her special day. We shared the day with one other little girl from our ward, and these two girls looked like ROYALTY as they promenaded up to the stand on Sunday afterwards to get their baptism certificates. Sigh...

After the main event everyone gathered at our house for a Celebration Lunch. What better way to document the day then by getting Steve's Krazy Sub in the shape of the number 8, right? We had to threaten Delainee to come and take pictures---she was to busy worrying about reading her sciptures---too cute.

Since Shelby was willing to be event photographer for me, I begged her to snap a few family ones as the end---what a group!

8 is Great!

I finally feel old. My baby is eight----EIGHT!!!! Oh my goodness! Delainee is an absolute angel--literally! To get ready for her Baptism we headed out with Kayleen Theobald to do a photoshoot---and the pictures turned out AWESOME!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Delainee is so excited to get baptized. She was so excited to go pick out brand new scriptures. She was VERY picky and wanted the small quad (BLUE) with NO snap! Her name is soooo long that it barely fits across the front! Other than scriptures her only other request for her birthday was an ipod---like DADDY'S!!! Ummmm, not quite prepared for that yet, but hopefully birthday number eight is memorable for her. She got to stay home from school a day early to go to lunch (she chose pizza at Costco) and to go shopping for some new clothes (she chose Old Navy). We also spent MUCH dilemma over what treats to take to school to share with her classmates. Final verdict: mini brownies from Costco!

She says she doesn't want a birthday cake, but wants Pioneer Woman's Best Chocolate Sheet Cake EVER served at her Celebration Luncheon---her wish is my commmand (and Aunt Shelby's as well! Ü)

Delainee has always been a special little girl--since the moment she arrived in this world 12 weeks premature! In a house with two crazies like Laetner and Waverly, I appreciate all the more how helpful, considerate, sensitive, and the CALM that our princess Delainee brings to our family. She gets ALOT of responsibility thrown on her, and she is ALREADY a better mommy than I will ever be! Ü
Happy 8th Birthday Delainee!

Children's Museum of Phoenix

Field Trip #2. The kindergartners at the Children's Museum of Phoenix! I had two kiddies in my group, so we got to be best of buds. It was me, Laetner and Caliber ALL DAY LONG!

The boys got along great, and they LOVED the foam noodle forest. I think we made a noodle train at least 5 different trips, but the bulk of the day was spent on the bikes!!!!

Here is the whole group---Miss Hann is at the top of the picture---LURVE HER! And Mrs W is at the bottom left!

Reign of Terror

I have been working alot of hours for Let's Play Music lately. Every June we have a big shindig where all the teachers get together to train, learn, laugh, win prizes, attend workshops, and get uplifted by motivational speakers. This year it has turned into an entire Convention Weekend with a Symposium on Saturday afternoon---AND I AM EVENT COORDINATOR. I do not kid you when I tell you I do not move from this computer all day. I have so many emails coming in and out that I can hardly keep up with them any more. But it is fun, and I am so anal about details that this is a perfect assignment for me. And with Court traveling as much as he does, it works out perfect for me to just work on the computer all day and all night without ever changing out of my jammies!

One problem...

Actually MORE than one problem, as there have been many offences during her reign of not being attended to, but alas the pile of blog posts will keep piling up for the time being.

I just had to post his one, cuz it JUST happened an hour ago....

She had been quiet for FAR too long....
Photobucket
Can you see it? Here is closer look!
Photobucket
It is even on her teeth! Know what it is yet?
Photobucket
I am mad as hell and she just keeps saying "cheese" becuz I have the camera out!
Photobucket
Figured it out yet? Its white-out! Even better is that these pictures are AFTER her shower! Yep it ain't comin' out. While I had the camera out I figured we should document another of her favorite passtimes---black sharpie binging!

My walls,

my LEATHER couch AND my tile floor,

and the ENTIRE length of the cushion in my front window!

I want to HURT her! And I want to hurt her even more when she says "cheese" when I am trying to document her naughtiness!

The white out did NOT come off in the shower. We sat at the sink and scrubbed her with a bristle pad and baby oil---it helped a LITTLE!

Halle Heart Institute

Photobucket
Poor planning on my part, but along with everything else I waited until the end of the year to volunteer for school field trips. First up was Delainee and the 2nd graders as we headed off the the Halle Heart Institute. It was some EXCITING stuff!

Here was Team Fischbeck---they really were a great group of kids.
Photobucket
We learned about nutrition and cpr and the food pyramid, and everything about staying healthy.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Here the kids are jumping up and down to get their heart rates up, and then they touch this button to SEE their heart beat.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Much of the day was spent waiting for buses. Somebody must have put the order in wrong, cuz we were on the buses at 8:45 and couldn't leave until 10:00 while we waited for the third bus to show up--YIKES.

Here is the whole Mrs. Skinner crew!

Easter

Photobucket
As usual, the Easter Bunny brought us some fun summer time spoils!

Waverly immediately donned her new swimming duds and headed off for the beach (with her pez in hand!)

But, Laetner wins the prize for showing the most enthusiasm!

Although this picture wins the prize for my FAVORITE!
