"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

They Ain't Down Yet

Signs of the times: Fires, floods, plagues and earthquakes in diverse place (to name a few.)

My in laws: have now PERSONALLY encountered 2!

The fire came in the form of the Rodeo-Chedeski Fire that burned their less than a year old cabin in Pinedale, AZ to the ground in 2002.

The earthquake came this morning about 3:40 a.m. in Concepcion Chile. That's right, you heard me! That crazy, 8.8 on the rictor scale earthquake that is all over CNN---my in laws are serving their mission at the epicenter! "The most scary thing they have ever been through" but luckily they are OK! In fact all missionaries in the area are accounted for and are fine. Amazingly their apartment seems to be ok (which I was especially worried about since they are on the 11th floor) We heard from their Stake President this morning that according to the Mission President all missionaries in the area were safe and accounted for, but later in the day they managed to contact Courtney's grandmother and she got to hear first hand how 'shaken' up everybody was. They are safe----thank goodness!

But with all the reconstruction that is going to be taking place, I seriously don't think my father in law was sent to Concepcion by chance! Ü

In the Most Delightful Way!

Photobucket

Thursday evening I had a great idea! I knew that Mary Poppins was playing at gammage. The kids had seen commercials for it on t.v and were all excited to know how she was flying across the audience. So I quickly called my mother for a little 'pre-birthday' celebration. I sent Court over to the box office on Friday morning to pick us up some ASU student rush tickets and we got ourselves 3 11th row center tickets! It was gonna be a girls night out, Grandma, mommy and Delainee. Laetner was a little disappointed when he heard was Delainee was getting to go, but there is NO way he would have lasted more than 10 minutes sitting out that 3 hour musical! Plus, when he heard that daddy was willing to play the Wii with him all night, he was A-OK staying home. (rumor has it that he and waverly even got to go to McDonald's and ACTUALLY play on the playground---AMAZING!)

We let Delainee choose where she wanted to eat dinner and she chose BJ's---YUM! Papa joined us for the dinner portion of our GNO, but then he left grandma with us for the rest of the evening.

We made it to Gammage right about 7 and Delainee wanted to tour the place. We then headed to coat check, where they actually will give out cushions for kiddies for FREE (just have to give them your license) and then we settled in for the show!

So, so stinkin' cute. Love how they have remixed Supercali---the ENTIRE audience was singing along. And I loved all the new songs as well. But there were so many Special Effects throughout the show---it was truly MAGICAL.

Some highlights: seeing Bert walk up over and down the ENTIRE proscenium, putting the kitchen back in order during 'Spoonful of Sugar', the statues that came to life, Mary gliding up the stairwell, the flowers that popped out of the picture, and of course when she flew OVER the audience at the end. So much fun!

To end out the night we had to make a stop at YogurtLand! I am sure people thought I was crazy walking in with my 7 year old at 11:00 for yogurt-----And I so do not care! Ü

Wavee Jo Turns 2!

Photobucket
She made it! And she had aboslutely NO idea that today was her special day! Ü But we started things out right and she got to lick ALL the beaters from the cake batter to the frosting---she was in HEAVEN!
Photobucket
Some of the batter dripped on the table and she licked it all up like a puppy dog---making sure not to miss a THING!
PhotobucketPhotobucket

She was very happy to the scene she awoke from her nap to see...
Photobucket

She finally seemed to understand the process of actually tearing the wrapping paper to find a prize inside!
Photobucket

She was ESPECIALLY happen to unearth her new Yo Gabba Gabba playmate...
Photobucket

But the best was when she opened up her roll of bubble tape from daddy. Court is always stealing bubble gum and candy from my Let's Play Music room to give to Waverly, and whenever he gives it to her he says, "shhh, shhh" meaning don't tell mommy---keep it a secret. The minute he walks in from business trips she will "shh, shh" at him and run to my Let's Play Music closet and point to my bucket of candy. But when she opened up her very own bubble gum for her birthday she immediately looked at Court and said, "shh, shh" TOO CUTE!

We borrowed a giant cupcake pan from Courts sister Alecia and when it came time to blow out the candles she wasn't too happy about it!

When it was all said and done, Waverly was left with one MASSIVE piece of Birthday Cake!
Photobucket

At the end of it all she got the BEST present EVER! I massage from her big sister after her bath.
Photobucket
Wavee seriously LOVES to get massages. After a shower she will BRING you her special bottle of lotion---just begging with her eyes for a good rub down! (Thank you Aunt Tara for giving us the lotion at our Fischbeck Christmas party)

We love our little Wavee Jo! She is naughty as all get out, but we wouldn't trade her for anything.

Her favorites: Yo Gabba Gabba, chicken and rice, Daddy, bubble tape, her woobie, macaroni and cheese, balloons, Little Einsteins, getting pushed in the stroller, suckers, her woobie, mommy's golden spoon, pizza, shoe-shoes, princess hut, ANYTHING with visible red spaghetti/tomato sauce, her woobie,

Funny things she does: toots alot, says shh shh to daddy, colors herself with markers, gives the best kisses on command, brings you the remote to play yo gabba gabba for her, says goodbye to someone she is nervous about, puts everything in the toilet, likes to hang out in the bathtub with her woobie, purses her lips, brings you the pink nesquik so you will make her a sippie cup

Her few words: daddy, laynhee, where dit go, there it is, oh no, uh-oh, weez (please), shh shh, tank you, mommm, go

She is TOTALLY a keeper!

Naughty Baby

Look who I found hiding in the princess hut!
Photobucket

Seems innocent enough at first! And then comes the frustration when I lifted the princess hut to reveal her true self!!
Photobucket
That face has GUILTY written all over it!

Are you KIDDING me????

What are YOU so upset about? I am the one that should be upset!

I'd Like to Kick YOU in the Face!

Last night:

me: ummm why is Waverly crying?
delainee (calmly): Laetner kicked her in the face!
me (not so calmly): L-AAET-NER!

He still has no response when I ask for details. Could he at least say that it was an accident, instead of allowing me to get angrier and angrier at him for thinking he hurt my baby on purpose?
Photobucket

Apparently she will live!

Delainee AND Laetner Show and Tell

This came with a tag that said "Happy Valentines Day Mommy"

The poem reads, "Although I keep growing an inch at a time,
I will ALWAYS be your Valentine"

Laetner busted out some cute finger painted hearts!

Stuffington Bear Factory

Wipe a tear for Laetner's first official school field trip. The kindergartners headed over to the Stuffington Bear Factory in Phoenix to create their own new best friend! They got to choose the color of bear and then got to stuff him. Laetner told me that he used both blue and pink stuffing in the bear---and he was pretty proud of that fact! But when I asked for clarification from Aunt Shelby (who was a volunteer for the field trip) she explained that the canister of stuffing had lighting that would slowly change the color inside of the canister (causing the EVER white stuffing to take on different hues)
Oh well, he is happy with the outcome!

As soon as he walked in the door with his new creation, Delainee ran down the hall to retrieve the bear from when she did the same field trip in kindergarten...

Slightly different color and we lost the ribbon, but alas they are cousins at least, right? Photobucket

Along with the bear itself, we were awarded with an official birth certificate to document the momentous occasion and name christening!

Big shocker that the name for his new best friend is MARIO!
(named in honor of his grandmother's february 5th birthday I am sure)

Happy Birthday Mamacita Maurio

A little late--we know. But Delainee took so much time working on her card until it was just right!
It reads:
"Dear Grandma, I forget when you were coming back and what day"

Hmmm, we all know Mama Maurio has been known to plan out a whole year of itineraries in advance, but I am shocked to know that she already knows her release date---and apparently she told Delainee. Luckily my child's memory is as bad as mine, and can't remember the details from the conversation! Ü

We hope grandma had a wonderful birthday celebration in Concepcion Chile. Hopefully Grandpa managed to rummage up some sort of yummy vittles to eat (becuz the reports thus far have been that the food has been disappointing!) And despite the lack of the actual phrase on the card of 'happy birthday' that we really do wish you just that.

Happy Birthday Mamacita Maurio!

Get Inspired to Get in Shape

These ladies have got to be SO happy that hi-def did not exist in 1982! Ü

I Just Can't Keep Up With Her

I am at my wits end with Miss Waverly.

Yesterday....

#1 Snuck some chocolate out of my Let's Play Music room into MY bed as she was watching Yo Gabba Gabba while I was quickly getting ready for my visiting teachers to come over. I first found her with smudges of chocolate on her face and could NOT figure out where she had gotten any. The bag APPEARED to still be sealed, but she had managed to open the corner just enough to get some chocolate bars out. What she COULDN'T figure out was how to get the foil wrapping off. So when I FINALLY found the chocolate it was smeared all over my comforter (on Court's side of the bed) It looks like a murder might have happened on my bed---Delainee even asked if someone had had a bloody nose!

#2 Alecia came over with Parker and Kennidi to dig through our shoe bin for shoes for Miss Kennidi. In the time it took for me to go answer the door and welcome everybody in, Waverly had climbed on stacked toy bins, to get to the top of Laetners dresser, in order to get his bin of markers. She then proceeded to color ALL over her hands, pants, socks, shoes and Laetners bed. It better be as washable as it claims.

#3 It is finally the end of the day, and the kids and I are settling in on my bed to watch a little t.v. before bedtime. We are just hitting play on the tivo when I look down and see Waverly pouring BRIGHT RED Sonic Watermelon slush on my bedroom carpet! @#$% My gosh, does she ever STOP!

With Laetner I expected the busy naghtiness becuz, well, he's a boy! But Wavee looks so innocent and demure that you assume she should be an angel child (just like her big sister Delainee) but NOT SO MUCH!

The BEST part of the day came when I ranted off all the things she had done and unloaded on Courtney (he is in Washington right now) on what a great day I was having. Did I get sympathy from my beloved? You be the judge. His words of comfort were, "It sounds like somebody needs to watch her better."

Thanks Court.

Cause of the Clog

So we did end up gettin a snake. We shoved that thing in their and FINALLY discovered the real reason that toilet would not flush.

On the back of our toilet sits a container of clorox wipes (although officially it is the kirkland signature equivalent and unfortunately are MUCH easier to whip out of the container than regular clorox wipes.) They sit there for the express purpose of being able to quickly wipe down the toilet seat (if needed) or even the counter itself. The packaging CLEARLY states that they are not flushable.

Wavee must have stood there pulling one wipe after another for WHO knows how long. But the official cause of the clog was the biggest wad of clorox wipes you have seen.

At least the whole time I was TRYING to plunge that stinkin bowl, that it was actually getting a good cleaning during the process! Ü
