"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

They Ain't Down Yet

Signs of the times: Fires, floods, plagues and earthquakes in diverse place (to name a few.)

My in laws: have now PERSONALLY encountered 2!

The fire came in the form of the Rodeo-Chedeski Fire that burned their less than a year old cabin in Pinedale, AZ to the ground in 2002.

The earthquake came this morning about 3:40 a.m. in Concepcion Chile. That's right, you heard me! That crazy, 8.8 on the rictor scale earthquake that is all over CNN---my in laws are serving their mission at the epicenter! "The most scary thing they have ever been through" but luckily they are OK! In fact all missionaries in the area are accounted for and are fine. Amazingly their apartment seems to be ok (which I was especially worried about since they are on the 11th floor) We heard from their Stake President this morning that according to the Mission President all missionaries in the area were safe and accounted for, but later in the day they managed to contact Courtney's grandmother and she got to hear first hand how 'shaken' up everybody was. They are safe----thank goodness!

But with all the reconstruction that is going to be taking place, I seriously don't think my father in law was sent to Concepcion by chance! Ü
