"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

In the Most Delightful Way!

Photobucket

Thursday evening I had a great idea! I knew that Mary Poppins was playing at gammage. The kids had seen commercials for it on t.v and were all excited to know how she was flying across the audience. So I quickly called my mother for a little 'pre-birthday' celebration. I sent Court over to the box office on Friday morning to pick us up some ASU student rush tickets and we got ourselves 3 11th row center tickets! It was gonna be a girls night out, Grandma, mommy and Delainee. Laetner was a little disappointed when he heard was Delainee was getting to go, but there is NO way he would have lasted more than 10 minutes sitting out that 3 hour musical! Plus, when he heard that daddy was willing to play the Wii with him all night, he was A-OK staying home. (rumor has it that he and waverly even got to go to McDonald's and ACTUALLY play on the playground---AMAZING!)

We let Delainee choose where she wanted to eat dinner and she chose BJ's---YUM! Papa joined us for the dinner portion of our GNO, but then he left grandma with us for the rest of the evening.

We made it to Gammage right about 7 and Delainee wanted to tour the place. We then headed to coat check, where they actually will give out cushions for kiddies for FREE (just have to give them your license) and then we settled in for the show!

So, so stinkin' cute. Love how they have remixed Supercali---the ENTIRE audience was singing along. And I loved all the new songs as well. But there were so many Special Effects throughout the show---it was truly MAGICAL.

Some highlights: seeing Bert walk up over and down the ENTIRE proscenium, putting the kitchen back in order during 'Spoonful of Sugar', the statues that came to life, Mary gliding up the stairwell, the flowers that popped out of the picture, and of course when she flew OVER the audience at the end. So much fun!

To end out the night we had to make a stop at YogurtLand! I am sure people thought I was crazy walking in with my 7 year old at 11:00 for yogurt-----And I so do not care! Ü

You are one cool Mommy. Glad you enjoyed it so much. I guess I'm just to cynical.
