"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

Living la vida Pinedale!

Saturday afternoon at the cabin we were still looking for some excitement. So we all piled into the rhino, and Court took us site seeing around Pinedale. Wow---what sites! We drove out of town torwards what feels like the rim. ANd then we drove to the opposite end of town and drove up to Juniper Ridge lookout tower. Even though we couldn't climb to the top it was still a pretty cool view. It was an insanely bumpy and FREEZING ride, but Waverly was so bundled that she managed to sleep through most of the trip. Before the ride we started out at the zip line nearby. It was near impossible to shoot the camera and catch a child before they got thrown off by the whiplash at the end. But Delainee and her freakishly strong monkey bar arms held on, no problem. A moth could send that child into tears, but she definitely is a thrill seeker!
When it came time for Laetner I could see that his grip was not near as strong. Court said he would be fine, but the whiplash at the end proved to be too much of a jolt and it really scared the crap out of him. My whimpy self actually tried the zip line, but I kept having horrible flashbacks of our senior girls trip when Eda (Porter)Clarkson swore I WOULD NOT hit a particular tree and then swung me into said tree so hard that I broke the middle toe on my right foot. If you have ever seen my freak right foot you can easily observe the shortness of that middle toe compared to its neighboring companions. But I digress. While I indeed did ATTEMPT the zip line, it was a pretty pathetic showing. While Court kept giving Delainee turns, Laetner sat down to have a heart to heart with Wavee. The poor thing had missed her morning nap, and we had yet started on her bumpy ride nap, so she was pretty exhausted--and you can see it!

I love how he actually bends down into her face, because he felt like she wasn't giving him her undivided attention.

She kinda looks like an EWOK!

Love all of the cute pics! SueAnne talked to Marc over the weekend and she said that they never found anything wrong with Marc so he is using this as a wake-up call. He is better and back at work.

Know what's funny? Eda Clarkson has a daughter in 5th grade at my school (in the classroom next door) and she just went to science camp with us...then I saw her at the Ragnar Relay! Small world. (Also, her daughter Corinne ran against Cooper for VP. He won. But when he was kicked out she replaced him!) These pictures are adorable, and I especially love your little Ewock daughter. :) Looks like you guys had a great time at the cabin. Wish we had one to go to!
